- This collection includes two scrapbooks created by Mary Yandes Robinson. The first scrapbook is composed primarily of newspaper clippings from 1875 to 1927 that Mary collected about a variety of topics, including obituaries of the Yandes and Robinson families; historical events, places, and natural sites in Indiana; articles about historical figures such as Henry Ward Beecher, George Rogers Clark, William Henry Harrison, James Whitcomb Riley, and Lew Wallace; and a large number of Kate Milner Rabb's Indianapolis Star column, "A Hoosier Listening Post."The second scrapbook is composed of World War I clippings, post cards, photographs and other mementos. The clippings include pictures and articles about military officers from America, Britain and France and about men and women from prominent families who served as soldiers and nurses or helped with the war effort at home. The bulk of the clippings are from 1918, but there are articles about President Theodore Roosevelt's death in 1919 and 1937 obituaries for Capt. Harry Marshall Wheeler and Capt. George Yandes Wheeler

- Indiana artist Mary Yandes Robinson was the granddaughter of Daniel and Anna Yandes, early settlers of Indiana. Born on April 22, 1864 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Yandes Robinson. By 1880, she and her family were living in Indianapolis. She studied art under T.C. Steele and with William Chase at the Art Students League of New York and the Shinnecock Summer School of Art on Long Island. She taught art at the Girls Classical School in Indianapolis, taught children's classes at the Indiana School for Art, and offered classes in a private studio located in her Indianapolis home. In 1903, She was the author and illustrator of the 1903 children's book, The Songs of the Trees, for which her sister, Josephine, wrote the music, and she also coauthored Daniel Yandes and His Family with Josephine and her sister Annabelle in 1936.
