- Twenty years ago, Blondell O'Henry was convicted of murdering her eldest daughter and wounding her two other children; but now that her son Niall has recanted his testimony and demolished the case, she's about to be set free. Reporter Nikki Gillette is determined to get the true story--Blondell's daughter Amity was Nikki's childhood friend, and the night she died Amity begged Nikki to meet with her--while her fiance Detective Pierce Reed is concerned she may be compromising the case--and worried for her safety. When the killing begins again, Nikki and Pierce must find out the truth before things are too late
