Biographical or historical data
Samuel Judah was born on July 10, 1798, in New York City. He graduated from Rutgers University (New Brunswick, NJ) in 1816 and was admitted to the bar in 1819. In 1818, Judah moved to Vincennes, Indiana. He married Harriet Brandon in 1825. They had eleven children. He served six terms in the State House of Representatives (1827-1829, 1837-1841). From 1929 to 1933, he was U.S. Attorney for Indiana. He died on April 24, 1869.
