Biographical or historical data
Otis E. Brown Post No. 2 was chartered by the National Council of World War Veterans in 1919. The post was comprised of Indianapolis veterans and named for Indiana0́9s first 7th District soldier to fall in battle, Sergeant Otis E. Brown of the 150th Field Artillery. Otis Brown was born October 6, 1895, son of William and Annie Brown. Otis entered the service on August 8, 1917. He was killed in action on July 15, 1918, in St. Hilaire, France, and was buried at the American Cemetery, Belleau Aisne, France (Grave 25, Sec. W, Plot 1).Source: Indiana Historical Commission.
