Biographical or historical data
James Morris Zion was born to Sheriff William Zion and Mrs. Amelia R. Sims on September 22,1848 in Lebanon, Indiana. Zion was the youngest of seven children. On October 5, 1869, James M. Zion married Melvina Loveless in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. They had five children together: Edwin Ray, Joy, Lily H., Ruby F., and James Ralph. James Morris Zion was known as the "Indiana Apple King" and made great contribution to the history of Tippecanoe County and Indiana. Zion died in 1931.
