President Elliott of the University in a few words introduced the Reverend Reese F. Thornton, Rector of St. John's Episcopal Church in Lafayette, who gave the Invocation; Dr. Louis Martin Sears evaluated the career of Roosevelt; President Elliott gave concluding remarks followed by the singing of "Lead Kindly Light" by the Purdue Glee Club and of "America" by the Glee Club. Then Raymond T. Knight and Albert S. Tavenor, chief trumpeters of the Purdue Military Band, sounded taps. Finally a benediction was spoken by the Most Reverend John G. Bennett, Bishop of the Diocese of Lafayette
