- This collection includes hand-written and typed correspondences to family and friends from Harold Standish Barr in Indiana, Kentucky, New Jersey, and France ranging from 1917-1918 regarding camp life
- Biographical or historical data
- Harold Standish Burr was an attorney and soldier from Crown Point, Indiana. He enlisted in the army in 1917 and was assigned to the Coast Artillery Corps. He served at Ft. Thomas in Kentucky and Fort Mott in New Jersey before being sent to Camp de Mailly in Aube, France in 1918. Discharged in 1919 at Camp Sherman in Ohio, then graduated to become a lawyer and was active in veterans organizations. He passed away in 1937.Source: collection inventory.
