- Summary
- The first part consists of letters written in 1943 about the War Bond Rally sponsored by Indiana public libaries. This event, called "Books for Bonds," was held at the Murat Theater on October 7, 1943. Indiana authors were invited to appear on stage as guests and speak to the audience. Among those invited were: Miriam Mason Swain, Bloomington; Jean S. Milner, Minister, Second Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis; Margaret E. Bruner, New Castle; Elizabeth Miller Hack, Boggstown; Max Ehrmann, Terre Haute; Paul R. Benson, New Castle; and Ann Weil, Evansville. Some of the letters are regrets that the author is unable to attend. The second part of the collection is a speech by Caroline Dunn entitled "Old Union Cemetery Association Talk, July 13, 1975."A set of letters from Thomas Larkin III regarding the publication "Who's Who in Indiana Politics" is also included
