Biographical or historical data
The Aftermath Club was a literary and social organization founded in 1895 by a group of women, Miss Charity Dye, Mrs. Behymer, and Mrs. Lamb, who wished to increase their knowledge. At its inception, the club studied authors such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, traveled to foreign countries, and traveled across America to gain a better understanding of American history and culture. Along with their intellectual pursuits, the women of the Aftermath Club held many teas and parties celebrating various occasions. In 1906, the Indiana Federation of Clubs federated the Aftermath Club.
